Please call now to help stop this from passing.
Today, Monday 11/24/25 at 3:30 PM PST, 6:30 PM EST DeKalb County Tennessee commission will consider adopting a resolution to establish a method of notification possibly through 911 to inform residents in a neighborhood if a sex offender has moved within 1,000 feet of a residence, school or childcare facility.
Notification fees would be paid for by the sex offender along with his or her sex offender registry administration fees.
Any residence, school, or child-care facility within one-thousand (1,000) feet from the closest proximity, structure to structure, of a sex offender’s residence will receive a notification.
Please call the commissioners and tell them you want to make a comment on the registrant notification proposal. Tell them this unconstitutional proposal would not protect anyone, would just cause panic, would hurt families living with the registrant, would encourage vigilantism and harassment, and create liability for the county.
(Sorry for the last-minute notification, but ACSOL just found out about this)

Done. Emailed 13 commissioners.
I just made calls. It was pretty simple. I just suggested that the unconstitutional proposal would not protect anyone, would just cause panic, would hurt families living with the registrant, would encourage vigilantism and harassment, and create liability for the county.
I also mentioned this seems to solve a problem that doesn’t exist.
I had to leave a message on some of the phones, but at least they got the information.
All we can do is plant seeds of information.
If course they didn’t include people convicted of manslaughter, murdering people for the most asinine reasons and getting out of a murder charge…..
On another note. Didn’t TN just have a great win (discussed on the latest “Registry Matters” Podcast): “A major Tennessee victory affirming that retroactively piling punitive registry laws onto people violates constitutional protections”
Anyone know if this resolution was voted in last night?

Who da Fk wants to live in DeKalb County Tennessee anyway!
It’s a sad country. You will never get justice. Smart, sadistic people run this country and they will continue to do what they want. Getting the votes is always the angle, merely a manipulation of democracy to fit their end goals.
And the easiest way to get votes is fear and hate. Hate at a group of people that are always easy pickins.
